Chris Feil is a friend of ours here at Customized Girl. He is a Chicago Police Officer that most recently worked in the special gang unit for the City of Chicago. He has been a police officer for almost 10 years. He has made a great name for himself within the police force, his unit and his community. A little over 2 years ago he was in a serious car accident while in pursuit of a suspect. The accident left him with tremendous pain and permanent damage to his back. He has recently had to undergo his third major back surgery. On a daily basis he deals with a tremendous amount of pain, the loss of mobility and constant numbness in his legs and feet. Most of these symptoms will never go away, but the hope is the pain will subside. The recovery process will be very slow and will take up to a year to possibly see any real long term results.
On Saturday, May 11th, 2013 a benefit will be held at 115 Bourbon Street in Chicago to help raise money for Chris, his wife, and their four girls. Any money raised will go towards helping Chris and Sam with day to day living cost. If you are in Chicago, or if you’re not, and you’re just interested in doing what you can to help a police officer who needs it, consider attending the benefit or donating in any way you can.
It was the least we could do to donate a few shirts for the cause. They will be available to purchase at the benefit. More details on Chris’s Facebook Page and on the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation’s website.

You will be able to add your own text, art, and images via the Customized Girl design center. All of our phone case design centers utilize a unique masking effect at the edges of the printable area. The masking effect is terrific, because it allows you to do two things at once: (1) create a design that exceeds the normal design boundary and (2) visualize the final printed product. For example, let’s say you want to upload a photo that is 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. You probably want that photo to cover the entire printed area, right? You don’t want white spaces near the edges. With the masking effect, you can enlarge your image to the point where it covers the entire case. You will see a ghosting effect on the parts of the image that exceed the printable area, and the printable area itself will be vibrant, just like your final product.

- Create a set using one or more designs from Customized Girl in your set. Check out this example set created by Polyvore user mychanel.
You have two options for this step:
- Recommended option: use a design from our public gallery. Navigate this gallery via the search field in the upper right corner of CustomizedGirl.com, or via the Start With a Design menu on the left side of the site.
- Or you can create your own design and save it. This option is a bit trickier. If you choose this route, please see the notes below.**
- Add that set to our group.
The contest will run from Monday, February 25, 2013 until Monday, March 18, 2013.

The winner will be determined by the number of likes. Likes are obtained when another Polyvore user clicks on the little heart icon next to your set.
