August is beginning to wind down, and students everywhere are clinging to their last couple of weeks of freedom before they\u2019re days are consumed with classes, extra-curriculars, and homework.\u00a0 To make the transition as smooth as possible, you might want to begin your preparations for back to school as soon as possible, if you haven\u2019t begun the process already.\u00a0 To help you think about what you need to accomplish before school starts, here are a list of things that I always liked to do to prepare myself for the upcoming school year or before each quarter of college!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cGet a Haircut\u201d<\/strong>: In my experience, when you look your best, you feel your best.\u00a0 Starting off the year with a fresh new haircut always makes a good impression, and it will make you feel ready to start the school year off with a new look!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/back-to-school-hairstyles1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1053 alignnone\" title=\"back-to-school-hairstyles\" src=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/back-to-school-hairstyles1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"96\" height=\"144\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sort Your Threads<\/strong>: Take the time now (before you get bogged down with everyday school stressors) to sort through your fall clothes and see what still fits and what doesn\u2019t, as well as deciding if you are going to wear the item of clothing this season.\u00a0 My rule is, if I haven\u2019t worn a piece of clothing in a year, I\u2019m probably not going to wear it often enough to keep it.\u00a0 Once you have all of your clothes sorted, you can donate the ones you aren\u2019t keeping to your local Goodwill or Clothes Closet and decide what you\u2019ll need to buy for fall!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/school-clothes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1054\" title=\"school-clothes\" src=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/school-clothes.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"168\" height=\"105\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/school-clothes.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/school-clothes-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 168px) 100vw, 168px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Shop Online<\/strong>: There are all kinds of sales and specials online that you won\u2019t find in stores. \u00a0If you know your size pretty well shopping online can save you a lot of money! Here at Customized Girl, we have tons of great looks for <a title=\"back-to-school\" href=\"http:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/?page=top36\">back-to-school<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/shopping-online1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1056\" title=\"bxp231322\" src=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/shopping-online1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"182\" height=\"121\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/shopping-online1.jpg 506w, https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/shopping-online1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 182px) 100vw, 182px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Start Getting Yourself on a Sleep Schedule<\/strong>: Getting up at 6 am or earlier when you aren\u2019t used to it and jumping right into your school day can be brutal.\u00a0 Before you are thrust into the harsh reality that is school, start going to bed a little earlier each night, and setting your alarm earlier in the morning.\u00a0 This way you can start your day a little earlier, and when school starts it won\u2019t be such a shock to your system.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/woman-asleep-alarm-clock-6-am.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1057\" title=\"woman-asleep-alarm-clock-6-am\" src=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/woman-asleep-alarm-clock-6-am.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"186\" height=\"124\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/woman-asleep-alarm-clock-6-am.jpg 310w, https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/woman-asleep-alarm-clock-6-am-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 186px) 100vw, 186px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t Forget the \u201cBack-to-School Supplies\u201d<\/strong>: Even if you aren\u2019t required to buy things like crayons, Elmer\u2019s, and a box of tissues, it\u2019s still a good idea to buy the things you <em>know<\/em> you\u2019ll need.\u00a0 I always bought a folder, three-ring binder, and paper for each class I was taking, as well as an agenda, pens and pencils.\u00a0 That way, at least you\u2019re covered and organized for the first couple of days, and if your teacher or professor requires something specific you can buy it later.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/School-supplies.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1058\" title=\"School supplies\" src=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/School-supplies.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/School-supplies.jpg 475w, https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/School-supplies-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Order Your Books EARLY<\/strong>: If you\u2019re headed off to college (and even in some high schools), you\u2019ll be required to purchase your own textbooks and novels.\u00a0 As you can imagine, this can get pretty pricey, so here\u2019s what you need to do.\u00a0 As soon as your college posts the booklists (usually it\u2019s on the bookstore\u2019s homepage) you should look up authors, titles, and editions, to see if you can find them at your local library.\u00a0 Then see if you can purchase them used at your bookstore or on a search engine.\u00a0 The key here is to act quickly!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Books.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1059\" title=\"Books\" src=\"http:\/\/static.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Books.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"168\" height=\"195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Books.jpg 311w, https:\/\/www.customizedgirl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Books-257x300.jpg 257w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 168px) 100vw, 168px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Set Up a Schedule<\/strong>: Time management is a skill that you will need to get through high school, college, and even your career! Get in that habit of setting up a routine and schedule that works for you and your activities.\u00a0 Map out what your week will look like in a planner, calendar or whatever you need to visualize your schedule, and write down what you\u2019re scheduled to do everyday and see when you\u2019re available.\u00a0 If you find that you have too much going on and not enough time for school work, you may want to cut back on the activities at first so you can focus on school.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lollapayouza.com\/media\/img\/design\/schedule_icon_large-f33788acd44a0cc71738a3c8f7265c5c57780229.png\"  \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Enjoy Your Last Couple Days of Summer<\/strong>: The final gem of advice I can give you, is to take advantage your last few weeks, or days of summer by going on a picnic, going to an amusement park, the zoo, or just going out and star-gazing!
