• Avoid semi-transparent designs: Semi-transparent graphics or elements with lowered opacity dont print well with DTF. Instead, use solid colors or simulate transparency with halftones.
• Use see-through elements: Incorporate open areas in your design to reduce ink usage and achieve a softer finish, especially on larger prints.
• Design at the correct resolution: Files should be created at 300 DPI from the start. Simply changing the DPI later wont improve quality.
• Avoid soft edges: These dont print cleanly with DTF and may appear rough or uneven.
• Use high-resolution images: DTF excels at photo-realistic designs. The sharper the image, the better the result.

Direct-to-Film Printing Disclaimers

• The white underbase layer may be slightly visible beneath the top color layer due to print specs.
• DTF prints can feel stiff initially but soften with washing. Breathability may be lower than other print methods.
• Prints may crack if garments are washed in hot water use cold wash cycles for longevity.
• Always iron inside out: Direct contact with heat can discolor prints (e.g., white may turn yellow).
• Ensure all lines in your design are at least 1 pt thick in Illustrator or 4 px at 300 DPI in Photoshop.
• Font sizes should generally be between 10 to 12 pts for best legibility.
