The Witness (plus size tank)

Mindfulness practices give us tools to work with our Ego. This involves seeing our Ego, identifying it, and then releasing our attachment to it by observing it and witnessing it... without judgment. Easier said than done. But just maybe, if we can remember as we’re watching ourselves that each time we judge ourselves that’s just Ego too, then we can use that awareness to start to release our grip on identifying with our Ego. (We are not our Ego; we merely have an Ego.) We can then ask ourselves, “Who is it that just noticed I was judging myself while watching myself?” The answer is: you, your(Higher)Self. For years, I worked alongside a herd of therapy horses and a herd of skilled facilitators to serve women seeking personal growth. One of our mantras is the words whispered onto this shirt: “Listen, listen, listen. Allow, allow, allow.” Create space and time to listen to the whispers of your heart and soul, your higher Self, to hear what they’re offering up for healing. And allow the process. Open yourself to the experience. Let it move through you. Feel the feelings as they surface, experience them without attaching to them, and watch them pass. In doing this, you will not only become a witness to your Ego; you will also witness your own powerful transformation.
