Gentle Reminders

Words are one of my favorite things. Language is incredibly profound when you stop to really think about it. The fact that I can say a word or several words and it has a specific meaning to me based on all of my experience with that word, and you can hear those words and still understand me even with all of your unique and different experience of those words? Well that is nothing short of a miracle. One of Don Miguel Ruiz’ Four Agreements is to Be Impeccable With Your Speech. It’s the very first agreement. Recognize the power of words. Accept responsibility for the privilege of speech by choosing words that uplift, inspire, heal, encourage, and support, words that offer kindness, truth, compassion, grace, and Love. I use words on my clothing and tattooed on my body as gentle reminders of who I want to be in this World, of how I want to treat others, to let others know that they’re safe with me.
