13 May 2014Announcements, Storefronts
We are very happy to unveil our new storefront program!
Customized Girl is a community of Statement Makers. We believe that women should be encouraged to express themselves and leave their mark on the world. We produce clothing and accessories that allow our customers to give voice to their ideals, opinions, jokes, and pretty much everything else. A while back we started our Statement Maker Interview Series to showcase some of the amazing things our customers and other remarkable women do to make a difference in the world.
We still felt like there was more we could do.
And that’s how we came up with storefronts. We’ve created Customized Girl storefronts to allow creative and enthusiastic people like yourself the chance to express yourself and be heard… all while making a little extra cash.
Customized Girl storefronts will allow businesses, brands, fashionistas, non-profit organizations, and most importantly, YOU the chance to sell your custom designed tees, tanks, sweats, accessories and more for extra money right in your own pocket!
What is a storefront?
A storefront is a place, a site hosted by Customized Girl, from which you can sell your custom designed apparel and accessories. This means you can use the art and fonts from our design center to create a new and unique design or upload your own photos and logos to create something from scratch! For every sale that comes out of your storefront, you will earn a royalty!
Who can open and start a storefront?
Anyone can! Simply create an account with Customized Girl. On the My Account page, you will see a link to Create a Storefront. Click that link!
I have a Customized Girl account, now what?
Once you’re on the My Account page, click the Create a Storefront link! Next, you will be able to create a store URL, title, and description. You can even upload your own logo! The next time you save a design, you will see an option to share that design on your storefront. That’s it!
What kind of royalty can I earn?
Our storefront royalty rates are based on specific items. Selling the same design on one shirt may earn your a higher royalty than another shirt. Right now, it ranges from 10% to 16%.
You will see the royalty rate on the product details page of every item and on the save page. When you save a design, you will see “The royalty rate for this item is __%”.
Tip: if you want to find low-priced items with high royalty rates, start with our line of Basic Tees. (Basic apparel comes in light colors.)
If you want to earn the highest possible dollar value per item, start with the more expensive brands, like American Apparel or Alternative Apparel.
How do I get paid?
We use PayPal™.
If you don’t already have a PayPal™ account, please create one. It’s easy and free. You will be asked to enter an email address. When you have earnings to redeem, simply go to My Account > Earnings and enter that same email address and click ‘redeem’.
You should wait to redeem your earnings.
Right now, you have to accrue $30 in earnings before you can redeem them. We encourage you to wait as long as possible (really let those earning pile up) before clicking redeem. This is because PayPal charges 2% per transaction, but with a max fee of $1.00. 2% of $50 is $1.00, so the more you let your earnings pile up past $50, the more you save.
If you have accrued less than that, but you plan on closing your storefront, please contact us for special arrangements.
What if someone customizes my design?
You still get paid. It doesn’t matter how much they change it. If they enter the design center through your design, and add something to their cart, you earn the royalty.
We will not allow another user to take your design and add it to their own storefront. Each design must be approved by a real human and we will watch out for this. If you notice someone copying your designs, please contact us right away: email@example.com.
