Staff Picks: Favorite Custom Gifts

With so many products offered on Customized Girl, it’s hard to choose just a few favorites. We went to our staff to ask them their personal favorites. Here’s what they had to say.

Meet Alyssa – Marketing & Design

“My favorite product is the Dog Bandana. I got it as a gift for my sister so her dog could wear it in their engagement photos and for the wedding day. She loved it! It was a big hit at the wedding!”

Meet Andy – Marketing & Design

“I’m a huge fan of our Unisex Fleece Full Zip Midweight Hoodie. The fabric is so comfy and soft and I always look forward to wearing this hoodie when the cold weather comes around. It’s my favorite hoodie by far.”

Meet Cindy – Human Resources

Cindy has two favorite products – the Ladies Racerback Cropped Premium Tank and the Flip Sequin Pencil & Makeup Case. “I love to wear the cropped tank over my sports bra for hot yoga. And the flip sequin pencil and makeup case is my go-to gift for my daughter’s friends. They can use it for art supplies, trinkets, and all the random things ten-year-old girls collect.”

Meet Sam – Customer Service

“I really like the fit and the length of the Ladies Slim Fit Super Soft Racerback Triblend Tank. It also has a ton of color options.”

Meet Hannah – Marketing & Design

“My favorite product is our Women’s Performance Leggings. They are seriously great quality and the fabric won’t pill up even after years of wear. I also love the fact that they are thick enough to not show skin or underwear when the fabric is stretched during wear.”

7 Common Customer Questions

At Customized Girl, our dedicated Customer Service team is committed to giving the highest level of service to every person that comes across our site. We receive hundreds of calls, texts, and emails daily varying from order updates to design help. Below you’ll find answers to questions we get asked the most.

1. How long does it take before I get my order?

It depends on what shipping method you choose at checkout. The dates are also shown if placed that day by the shipping cut-off time which is 3:30 PM ET then it moves to the next business day. You can also view our shipping schedule chart: https://www.customizedgirl.com/info/shipping.

2. Is the delivery date guaranteed?

Currently, all delivery dates are estimated. Shippers and vendors are experiencing delays in moving packages because of the challenges brought about by the pandemic. eCommerce businesses are impacted, which in turn, may affect the estimated delivery dates indicated at Checkout.

3. How can I apply for the Customized Girl Annual Scholarship?

First off, what is the Customized Girl Annual Scholarship? It’s a chance to win $500 and is awarded to two winners every year. To apply, simply fill out this short form including your original and unique “statement of the world.” Then, caption one of your Instagram posts with your statement, tag us @CustomizedGirl, and include #CGScholarship. 5. How can I share my designs?

Once your design is saved, this will allow you to share it with friends or on social media. You can use the share button in the design center or simply copy the URL and share away! We are unable to print copyrighted or protected images.

6. Can we combine promo codes?

We can only apply one promo or discount at a time per order. Our system will use the greater discount and it will be shown on the cart page. For example: If the customer received 5% off with a group discount, but would like to apply a 25% off promo code, the system will allow that. OR we can provide the difference of 20% in a refund. To receive promo codes, we recommend signing up for our email newsletter at the very bottom of any page because we do send out great coupon codes for discounts! You can also sign up to receive SMS text messages straight to your phone!

7. Where can I find details on sizing?

If you don’t know what size to choose when ordering apparel, you can look at the size chart to provide you with measurements. Additionally, in the size chart you will see a graphic that displays if the product runs big, small or is true to size. The size chart is located to the right of the price just above the “ADD TO CART” button in our design center. You can also find that information under the “PRODUCT INFO” tab.

5 Ways To Commemorate Juneteenth

Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) marks an important day as it honors the end of slavery in the United States. Also known as “Freedom Day,” it is celebrated every year in America. But what does that celebration look like? Here are 5 ways you can commemorate this important day in American history.

  1. Educate Yourself and Your Community. Before jumping straight in to the celebration, it is important to know what exactly you are celebrating and why. For starters, try following organizations and creators in the Black community on social media who are advocates and devote their lives to fighting racial injustice. Here are a few we recommend: Austin Channing Brown, Michelle Saahene, Emmanuel Acho, and Brittany Packnett Cunningham.
  2. Support Black-Owned Businesses. Do some research in your area for Black-owned businesses. It can be as simple as dining at a black-owned restaurant, shopping at a local black-owned boutique, or subscribing to a blog of your favorite black writer. No matter the business, the smallest gesture can make the biggest impact. Show your support!
  3. Donate To Organizations. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of incredible organizations across the country aimed to help raise awareness, educate, and make a difference for the Black community. Find one that means something to you and donate to help empower and fight for racial justice. No amount is too small. No idea where to start? Here are a few: Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Anti Racism Fund, NAACP, and Color Of Change.
  4. Listen To Black Music Artists. Did you know June is Black Music Appreciation Month? It’s a celebration of African-American music in the United States. Turn to your favorite streaming platform and jam out to Black artists during your Juneteenth celebration! From Nina Simone who recorded songs that became civil rights anthems to Leon Bridges and Kendrick Lamar of today’s day and age, there are so many incredible Black artists throughout history.
  5. Spread Awareness. As important as this day is, there are still some people who do not know much about Juneteenth. By talking with your friends and family, sharing resources on social media or participating in Juneteenth events, spreading awareness about this holiday can help in more ways than you can imagine.

However you choose to celebrate and commemorate Juneteenth, we hope you make it one to remember.

New Winter Traditions For A New Normal

2020 has given us a lot of new experiences. Many of us are working from home or attending school virtually for the first time in our lives. Many of us learned the term “social distancing” for the first time. Some of us wore face masks for the first time in our lives this year. There were a lot of new things that were maybe not so welcome but needed to happen out of necessity.

Today, we want to celebrate some new things that we choose to do because they’re fun or because the old way of doing things just doesn’t quite work anymore. Read below to find out what some of our new favorite winter traditions are for a new normal.

# 1 Blowing Kisses Under The Mistletoe

In years past it was tradition to stand under the mistletoe with your special admirer and plant a holiday kiss right on their face. In a post-pandemic world, our new favorite mistletoe tradition is to stand under the mistletoe and just blow kisses to everyone standing a safe distance away! Just make sure to keep your mask on while blowing. Don’t want to spread any unnecessary germs.

# 2 Opening Gifts With The Family Over Zoom

Arguably the most important part of the holidays is opening gifts together. With many of us limited to the number of people we’re allowed to gather with it’s going to just be too difficult to fit the whole family in one room to open gifts this year. So instead, we’ll be hosting a Zoom meeting with our families just so we can all share and enjoy our gifts together without breaking any gathering limits. As long as we can still see each other’s smiles we’ll be fulfilled.

# 3 Attending Virtual Spiritual Services

Regardless of who or how you worship, spirituality is a huge part of the reason for giving. Unfortunately, 2020 has made attending your service of choice in person not only difficult but in some cases impossible which is why this year we’ll be attending our services online. Just remember to mute your microphone while the presenter is speaking…it’s just the kind thing to do.

# 4 Leaving Hand Sanitizer Out For Santa

For those of us that celebrate Christmas, leaving cookies and milk out for Santa has been a tradition for generations. With 2020 shaking up all things traditional, this year we’ve decided that we’ll be leaving Santa some hand sanitizer along with the rest of his treats. While Dr. Faucci has confirmed that Santa has immunity to COVID-19, the rest of us non-magical beings do not! This is why it’s so important to always wash your hands and use sanitizer even if you’re immune.

We all know that adjusting to new habits is difficult and often frustrating, but we hope our list has brought a smile to your face and possibly some positive ideas to mind on how we can all adjust our traditions when faced with new realities. From all of us at Customized Girl, here’s wishing you a safe and happy holiday season!
